Kiwanis Invitational Sports Events for Exceptional Athletes
Color Guard Every year the Kiwanis sponsors an Invitational Sports Meet for Exceptional Athletes. Troop 950 has been involved in this event for years, unfortunately it occurs on the same day as our snow trip! We were asked to perform Color Guard for the opening ceremonies and Sergeant Major (retired, USMC) Bill Paxton showed the boys how to perform his version of the Color Guard ceremony and the boys did a great job!

On November 5th local Kiwanis clubs, Lake Murray, La Mesa, and Fletcher Hills Clubs
along with their sponsored youth, Circle K, Key clubs, and Boy Scout Troop 950, helped clean up the Mesa Rd. trail head at the north end of Lake Murray Boulevard. They
trimmed trees removed non- native species of plants and picked up trash to fill 3 pick up truck beds for disposal. Non native plants need to be removed to prevent the native plants from being choked out of the park. The brush was cut back for visitor safety and fire prevention. Lake Murray Kiwanis Club continues to support Mission Trails with the help of their Boy Scout Troop 950. The boys try to do patrol service hours and troop service hours at least once a month at the park.
